Solo Career

With the end of the NKOTB, Jordan started his solo career & he took advantage of resurgence of interest in teen-oriented “boy bands” like NSYNC & Backstreet Boys to launch it. He made 5 albuns but he didn´t succeed in all of them. He gained some awards with his first single “Give It To You”, that took him touring in some countries, including Brazil. The success of “Give It To You” reached some charts such as #10 on Billboard Hot 100, it went Platinum selling over a million copies, #35 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart & it was also nominated for the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Dance Video... & he was also nominated for Favorite Male Singer at the 2000 Kids´ Choice Awards. Then he released two more solo albums, but this time they failed & so he had to deal with some personal struggles at the time. As time passed, he continued to move on with his life & had two beautiful kids – Dante & Eric.

He first came to Brazil in 1991 with the NKOTB for a Rock & Roll festival called Rock In Rio, & then came back in 1999 to launch his first single “Give It To You”. Here in Brazil he made his “Give It To You” performance in some local TV programs – MTV Brazil Channel - where he had some fans interviewing him & learning some dance moves from him, Programa do Gugu, Planeta Xuxa & Programa Livre – where he danced some culture musics with brazilian singers.

Since the reunion of the NKOTB in 2008, he´s been sharing his time between NKOTB & his solo career, lauching his late & most successful solo “Unfinished”. Well, we guess this time he forgot to came back to Brazil to also launch it here huh! Hahahaha!

Some of his appearances on TV includes:

- Being a judge on the American Idol Spin-off, American Juniors.
- Being a 3rd season cast member on the VH1 reality TV series The Surreal Life, in 2004
- In September, 2005 he starred in a British documentary on five in UK called Trust Me – I´m A Holiday Rep.
- In September, 2011 he was a judge on CBS show Cover Me Canada.
 

On December 27th, 2004 Jordan was one of the cast member on the reality show The Surreal Life. Along with him were also Brigitte Nielsen, Flavor Flav, Charo, Dave Coulier & Ryan Starr. Jordan was hesitant about joining the show at first due to the lack of privacy, but his management convinced him it´d be good publicity.

 It was a reality show where 6 celebrities were locked together in a Hollywood mansion & filmed 24 hours. They were divided into groups to battle each other in some contests, such as surfing lessons, record a group single & a battle of bands. (Foi um reality show onde 6 celebridades foram confinadas juntas em uma mansão de Hollywood e filmadas por 24 hs. Eles eram divididos em grupos para disputar provas, como, lições de surfe, gravar um CD em grupo e batalha de bandas.)
 




Some curiosities... in 1999, he was chosen by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world; he wore a black rubber bracelete for good luck since he was a teenager & still wore it when NKOTB dessapeared between 1992-1993; he has sold over 1.5 million records worldwide as solo artist.

Com o final do NKOTB, Jordan começou sua carreira solo e tirou vantagem do ressurgimento de interesse em orientação adolescente de “boy bands” como NSYNC e Backstreet Boys, para lançar sua carreira solo. Ele fez 5 álbuns, mas não teve êxito em todos eles. Ele ganhou alguns prémios com seu primeiro single “Give It To You”, que fez com que ele fizesse turnês em alguns países, incluindo o Brasil. O sucesso de "Give It To You" alcançou alguns placares, tais como, nº 10 na Billboard Hot 100, ganhou platina de vendas de mais de 1 milhão de cópias, nº 35 no placar do Hot Dance Music/Club Pay e foi nominado também ao prémio de melhor video de dança para o MTV video musical de 1999... ele também foi nominado ao prémio de cantor preferido para o 2000 Kids´Awards. Então, ele lançou mais 2 álbuns solos, mas desta vez eles fracassaram e ele teve que lhe dar com algumas lutas pessoais na época. Com o passar do tempo, ele continuou seguindo com sua vida e teve 2 lindos filhos – Dante e Eric.

Ele veio pela primeira vez ao Brasil em 1991 com o NKOTB, para um festival de Rock n Roll, chamado Rock In Rio, e retornou novamente em 1999 para lançar seu single “Give It To You”.
